Given the bank holiday in the UK this weekend, there is no scheduled story chat this Sunday, May 6.

However, people usually do stop by to visit and sit a spell. The kettle's always on, so do feel free to drop in and say hi.

(Ok, it's an old joke but it's been a long week and I'm tired!)

Once again this weekend we will not have a scheduled story chat, in observance of Mother's Day in the US. We will resume next week before taking another holiday break.

That said, please do not hesitate to stop by and sit a spell. As always, the kettle will be on, and in the words of Tom Bodett, "we'll leave the light on for ya."

After a break of several weeks, this weekend we are back to a regularly scheduled story chat. Please join us this Sunday, May 20, at 4:00 Eastern time for a discussion of Ghislaine Emrys' story, "Out of Time," as well as helping her blow out the candles on her birthday cake. I may not be able to make it to chat this Sunday which is a little disappointing as I wasnted to be there for Ghis's 'Out of Time' story, But I may have to work that day, so not much I can do about it. Sorry. Ghis--great story though!!

Ghislaine, I really liked this story and am looking forward to more (there is more, isn't there?). I also wanted to say that I would like to be more active in the chats, but this spring it seems like my Sunday afternoons have all been spoken for. Hopefully, I'll see/chat you in June.

Hi all- just realised it's my story chat on Sunday and I can't make it - have my Dad's funeral the next day so am away.

Just want to say 'Thanks' for all the kind words and messages I have received. My Dad's death was expected (he was 87 and not in good health) but it's still a shock and I think the realisation will hit on Monday.
So thanks again - it's what makes these boards so special.

What a lovely poem Frankie. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, and even if it was expected it is still hard to accept once it has happened. I'll be facing the same situation soon enough and even though we all know it's coming, we all know it's going to be hard. So, chin up and join us again when you feel up to it!
