| Given the bank holiday in the UK this weekend, there is no scheduled story chat this Sunday, May 6.
However, people usually do stop by to visit and sit a spell. The kettle's always on, so do feel free to drop in and say hi. |

| A bank holiday -- the boys' favorite kind.
(Ok, it's an old joke but it's been a long week and I'm tired!) | |

| Once again this weekend we will not have a scheduled story chat, in observance of Mother's Day in the US. We will resume next week before taking another holiday break.
That said, please do not hesitate to stop by and sit a spell. As always, the kettle will be on, and in the words of Tom Bodett, "we'll leave the light on for ya." |

| Ghislaine, I really liked this story and am looking forward to more (there is more, isn't there?). I also wanted to say that I would like to be more active in the chats, but this spring it seems like my Sunday afternoons have all been spoken for. Hopefully, I'll see/chat you in June. | |

| Once again this weekend we will not have a scheduled story chat, in observance of the long Memorial Day weekend in the US. We will resume June 10 after another break next week, but should be fairly uninterrupted once late June rolls around.
That said, many folks do drop in, pull up a rocker on the porch, and sit a spell. There will be plenty of lemonade and cookies for everyone, so feel free to join in.
Happy Summer, everyone!

| I'm sorry I won't be around for Sister Grace's story as I'll be busy before I go back into hospital on Monday. Enjoy the chat, it's a great read and have fun. |

As you all know, any given Sunday many folks do drop in, pull up a rocker on the porch, and sit a spell. There will be plenty of lemonade and cookies for everyone, as well as great conversation, so feel free to join in. We'll look forward to seein' ya!

| Hi all- just realised it's my story chat on Sunday and I can't make it - have my Dad's funeral the next day so am away. Has anyone got another story they would like to choose to discuss? There are so many good ones. _________________ 'If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor.'

| Frankie, so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Warmest condolences and thoughts are with you and your family.
Is there anyone with an upcoming turn who plans to be at this Sunday's chat who would like to switch with Frankie? Please PM me if you can, and let me know which story you'd like to discuss. Thanks.

| Just want to say 'Thanks' for all the kind words and messages I have received. My Dad's death was expected (he was 87 and not in good health) but it's still a shock and I think the realisation will hit on Monday. So thanks again - it's what makes these boards so special. Just going to share the quote found in my Dad's wallet so he must have liked it and sums up the man ... If I should go before the rest of you, Break not a flower or inscribe a stone. Nor when I've gone speak in a Sunday voice But be the usual selves that I have known. Weep if you must, Parting is hell, But life goes on, So sing as well.

| What a lovely poem Frankie. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, and even if it was expected it is still hard to accept once it has happened. I'll be facing the same situation soon enough and even though we all know it's coming, we all know it's going to be hard. So, chin up and join us again when you feel up to it! |
