How about this episode--what plots types do you see? I'm going to wait until some people offer their thoughts before I comment; then I'll be able to respond to them, too. I meant to respond to some comments on last month's episode but forgot! Of course, I--and anyone else--can still go back and contribute to previous episode discussions. Which I'll do once I've waken up more. The McCreedy Bust 1992828207

No one has anything plot-wise to say about this episode??? Well, I do. The McCreedy Bust 1992828207

I'd say it includes:

Overcoming the monster -- greed;

Rags to Riches -- Heyes (and Kid) loses, wins, loses against Big Mac, his antagonist here;

Rebirth -- Heyes and Kid are trying to move beyond their criminal, larcenous past into a new life on the straight and narrow, though they don't encounter overwhelming unequivocal success in this episode.

I will say that the bust of Ceasar is a perfect McGuffin for plot driving...
Second only to the 'Travel Permits' in Casablance, huh?

Also, although we see it all from their POV our boys are very much bit players in the ACTUAL two protagonists' ongoing plot...
And I guess both McCreedy and Armenderiz assume they are the hero in a Quest / Overcoming the Monster plot...

I dunno that there's any overcoming the Greed monster, Ghis - it looks in pretty good shape to me at the end!!

But wouldn't you say, Calico, that by foregoing the $50,000 that Big Mac offers the boys at the end of the episode, Heyes and Curry have overcome the monster? It sure seems that way to me. The McCreedy Bust 1992828207
