A while back (might actually be as far as a year or three), something occurred to me out of nowhere. And since I just came out of lurking-mode, I thought I might start by sharing this. Maybe it is ancient news to you or has always been known to ASJ fans (and I am once again late to the party), but maybe I can surprise a few of you.
Nothing big or important. But it has forever changed how I hear the ASJ theme in my head. So,
be warned.
* drum roll *
The ASJ theme is really a title
song.
* ta dah *
Don't believe me?
Try this experiment:
Say out loud the following line:
"Alias Smith & Jones. Two pretty good bad men. And in all the trains and banks they robbed, they never killed no-one."
Get it? No? Then try saying it again while thinking of the ASJ theme... Still nothing?
Try saying the line using the same rhythm as the title theme. No rhythm?
Then simply sing the line along to the ASJ theme. Or think it, while applying the words to the notes.
Ah.
Now you get it. *grins satisfied*
What? You can't "unhear" the words now when the ASJ theme is playing? Well, you
were warned.
Muhaha.
