I know this section is called "Penski's Ponderings," but the following pondering is mine.

study

In reading ASJ fanfic and VS, and I find myself continually coming back to one specific question: huh

Do Heyes and Curry ever use the word "ain't" in the television series?  If so, which episode, under what circumstances, and how often is it used?

Thanks for any help with this!

Sistergrace, I can think of two examples but I'm sure there's more. In the pilot, Wheat goes into the bank to hold it up and when he sticks the gun in Heyes' face, Heyes says, "One thing I ain't doin' is gettin' robbed."
The other is in 21 Days to Tenstrike and Heyes says, "Y'know, Kid, that ain't funny. Your sense of humor is really getting warped."

In "The McCreedy Bust", after Heyes and Curry pump Blake for information about the bust in the wine bar, Heyes (talking about Curry's shooting) says "Oh he ain't that good. He was aimin' for your belly."

In the next scene, Curry has the first line: "You sure this ain't gonna mess up our amnesty?"

Heyes: "Well, the safe's in Mexico, ain't it?"

There are more in this episode.

"Wrong Train to Brimstone" -- when Heyes and Curry are in the baggage car, talking about what to do, Curry says "There ain't one in that bunch ever killed anyone in their lives."

In the scene with Harry Briscoe in the baggage car, both Heyes and Curry say "That ain't Kid Curry."

I really hope they use ain't a lot. It's one of my best words for trying to sound Western....seventies Western Series that is.

Also Lotta, gonna, outta, crimp, tarnation.....haha....some of us need these words......real....there's another one ....bad!
