Is this story a continuation of TOF or a brand new story?

Penski;

A bit of both. TOF was more about their journey to get amnedsy and the life changes they go through. Ghosts is more about the aftermath and just tying up loose ends.

I've been checking daily for the next installment and wouldn't you know it: The day I have to work late is the morning I find a new chapter's been posted! Mad

So it was to my great surprise and immense pleasure that I found I could access WetPaint at work and...I read the story!!! Which meant I wouldn't be impatient to get home and I could focus appropriately on my work instead of thinking about what was going on with Heyes and friends all day long (well, no more than usual!). Phew!!!

And, great chapter--as always. Thank you! thankyou

Oh my goodness Ghis! I'm going to be getting you ladies into trouble. First InsideOutlaw sneaks away from her Thanksgiving guests to read the previous chapter and now you've been moonlighting! Don't get fired now! I'm going to have to start waiting for the weekends before I post. Still, though I'm pleased that you liked it. I also found this comment interesting; 'I was really looking forward to seeing that and you didn't disappoint.' That you used the word 'seeing' rather than 'reading'. That I take as a definite complement!

PostSubject: Re: Stories by Keays   Sat Dec 08, 2012 6:28 am

No worries, Keays. We had parent-teacher conferences Thursday night and there wasn't enough time for me to go home and return beforehand. So I had several hours to fill and being able to read The Visit made the time go by very nicely. (Not that I couldn't have done other things--like plan lessons, organize stuff, do strategic thinking, etc--a teacher's work is never done!)

About seeing vs reading: I often try to envision scenes from your story in my mind, and that was one of them.

SPOILER ALERT: DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE PLOT OF THE MOST RECENT CHAPTER, THE VISIT!!!

(But scroll down several lines if that's not a problem for you.)

To continue with what has become my tradition of analyzing chapter titles:

* Heyes continues to be visited by nightmares, which are dragging him down
* Heyes visits a couple sheriffs and gets two different reactions from them, both of which boost his confidence
* Heyes and Kid visit Kenny and his family, and it enables Heyes to continue healing
* Heyes makes a visit to a privy and upon his return, learns something positive about himself
* Heyes and Miranda visit with each other and begin to realize the depth of their feelings for each other
* Kid and Beth revisit the scene of prior happiness but this time it turns tragic
* Beth is visited by another tragedy
* Heyes visits the scene of the shooting and falls victim, once again, to the result of a gunshot
* Heyes is visited by Deputy Morin and the encounter turns out well
* Heyes and Kid and their new gang (aka the Jordan Family) are visited by a stranger, with consequences as yet unknown

Well, yes as usual you have done a pretty good run down there of the chapter, although I don't think that Abi can really be considered a stranger! We'll just see where that one goes. Again, thank you for your insightful comments and I'm glad I could help you pass the time.

I said "stranger" because I didn't want to identify who it was in my last spoiler point! sm

Oh okay! Jeez I can be so slow on the uptake sometimes! The characters I write about are a lot smarter than I am sometimes!

I suppose I'm assuming that since you put in the 'spoiler alert' that anyone reading beyond that point will just have to take what they get!!!

Shocked Abi's back!! How did you persuade Silverkelpie to do that? Great episode, and if Silverkelpie's involved we know that the mystery is going to thicken. Great stuff!

Silverkelpie and Keays - applause Ladies, a wonderful episode on Wetpaint - funny, twisty and exciting. The mystery is really starting to grow now, and it's cleverly set against the angst.

Heyes is wonderfully written here. The Spanish saying, "Nunca es tarde si la dicha es Buena," captures him well here - meaning, "it's never too late to do well." He is doing his best to do well by everyone and growing as a man in the process. Where he has slips, he is still laying foundations for future growth - very clever characterisation. The Kid is caught well too, pushing Abi and Heyes to grow emotionally. The scene at the beginning was very funny.

I loved the scene in the prison. The questioning was very clever, backing Harris into a corner, and Heyes being on the border of losing his parole had me on edge. The mystery is really growing now! Wonderful writing, plotting, and characterisation. I am wishing that I could use Spanish punctuation at both ends of the sentence to use more exclamation marks! What a cliff hanger! You can't just end it there with them all in terrible danger! Please post the next one soon.

I am now posting my UN-edited stories over on this site. I'm still new to it so hopefully you won't have any problems navigating it. If you do, let me know. Thanks. http://www.wattpad.com/11373066-twist-of-fate-the-re-union-chapter-one-twist-of

Keays and Silverkelpie - Great episode. You keep the plot churning and tension high, and still manage to keep the surprises coming, thick and fast. I think you knew we all suspect Mitchell, so just got that out in the open! I bet that's not the end of it, though. I laughed so much at 'Amazing Grace.' Just where did you get that from?

I'd be interested to know how you write together, work out plots and who writes what? How much do you write each?

I could certainly see Silverkelpie's hand in the great historical notes. Double applause - one each.

Actually, you didn't! Very Happy

I saw that the Wetpaint page wasn't formatted properly and decided to see if the newest chapter was on your Wattpad page as well. Lo and behold, it was and in perfect paragraph form! So I read it through there, typed up comments offline, then checked periodically on Wetpaint to see how that was going. A couple hours or so later, that page was done so I posted my comments there. And I'll continue to post my feedback on Wetpaint, since I started doing so there, but I'll read the newest installments on whichever page has them first!

Dagnammit! Don't you ever sleep? One of these times I sneak in it under your radar!! All that aside, I hope you enjoyed it. Off to check for comments on Wetpaint now. Then, unfortunately I have to go to work so I won't be on chat today.

Gringa - In answer to your question we do about 50-50 (sometimes there will be more of Keays' work in a chapter, sometimes more of mine, and sometimes a very even share.) We know whodunit, and we've patched out a rough storyline, but the detail changes as we go along. Creativity kicks in and we go with it.

Ghislaine - Are there a lot of characters beginning in 'M?' Could it be a clue? Or a Red Herring? Or just a coincidence? Suspect

I couldn't possibly say... could I? Twisted Evil

Here's what I've noticed:

Characters named in TOF/Ghosts:
Doc and Joe Morin
Dr. Miller

Marilyn (the novice from the convent)
Miranda (aka Randa)
Micajah (aka Cage)

Warden Mitchell
Officer Murrey
Prisoner Mackenzie (aka Mac)

Marshal Morrisson
Sheriff MacPherson (in Laramie)

Characters from the original TV show:
Kyle Murtry
Mr. McCreedy
Governor Moonlight
