PostSubject: Re: Stories by Keays   Tue Jul 02, 2013 1:41 pm

I felt this episode moved the story on more than the last one, especially as it told us that the secret is out where they are spending their honeymoon! The point was made about how isolated it is. Am I on to something? Probably not! I did enjoy the conversation with Kenny, but I'm not sure I'd compare the loss of a first, adolescent love to a long-time love with a child. It's not the same at all. I'd be upset with him if I was Heyes.

Storm clouds are gathering and I sense the big secret will be out soon! Well done on keeping us hooked for so long, ladies.reading

Thanks for your comments Gringa. Although I feel a need to defend Kenny here to some degree. Comments seem to indicate that the readers think that all Kenny lost was his lover. But that's not true, he lost both his parents, he lost his properties, his inheritance and his future, not to mention most of his friends who went to war with him. In other words; Kenny lost everything that mattered to him. I would say it is very comparable to what Heyes lost--perhaps even more so.

I agree with you, Keays. I think the only difference between Kenny and Heyes losing what mattered most to them was the age at which it happened. Kenny was much older and therefore better equipped to deal with his changed circumstances.

I love that you defend Kenny! I do like him, but I'd still be upset if I was Heyes. However, I am not referring to how much they have lost, but of the impact. To lose everything as a child and be alone is so much worse than it is to lose it as an adult when you had the experience and skills to rebuild things. A child is more vulnerable and less able to define a good or bad choice as they cannot foresee the implications in the same way as an adult. Also Kenny says himself that his lady waited two years and gave up, where Abi and Heyes still had an irresistible attraction after fifteen years, and had a child together and lost another. Kenny may have loved his lady, but I doubt that is the same in-depth relationship as Heyes had with Abi. Kenny may have sidestepped a mistake there on the road to finding the right woman for him as she doesn't seem very loyal. Abi even came to help with this case because she cared about Heyes and his friends without him asking. She could have just hidden Anya, but didn't. She did the right thing.

I'm sorry, but I do not see that as the same at all. I think the impact on Heyes is more serious than what happened to Kenny, but does capture the 19th Century 'we know what is best for you' attitude we wouldn't tolerate today.

Kenny was upset at his lady walking away from him. Heyes is upset at his lady having to choose between him or her child. As a parent, that is no choice at all and not comparable.

Okay... the penultimate chapter of 'Ghosts,' 'The Quickening' is now posted on Wetpaint. And we mean it! The next one's the last.sm

I am so, SO far behind on this wonderful series of stories, wasting my valuable time on real life concerns. . . Looking forward to a long, quiet, rainy day to sit inside and catch up.

Ooh! I loved this episode, and you say there is only one more? So all these poisonings are to harm Amy and now Randa? The ginger cookies are a clue, I'm sure of that! Anyone can die in these stories so I have no idea what is going to happen next, but I can't wait to find out.

The scene covering Beth's tragic loss was so very well written, it caught the emotions as well as the physical pain.

This story has balanced fun with the mystery and angst. I am So going to miss this.

Wow! Sorry ladies, but in doing yet another proof-reading of The Quickening I noticed that there was a section missing. It's during the conversation between Heyes and Jed while they're sitting on the front porch of the Jordan ranch discussing Jed's pending fatherhood. It's just a small section but still, part of the conversation. It's been included now if any of you want to go back and re-read.

It doesn't seem to be showing up on the main page that I have posted the final chapter. It is on Fanfiction.net.

Just read the final chapter. What can I say? (Well, read my comments over there to find out!) I will post those comments, and probably some more, over on Wetpaint when I can, since that's where all my comments have been going but I did want to give you some quick feedback right after finishing the story. Suffice it to say here that it was terrific. I won't say anything in particular so as not to spoil things for anyone else but--I was completely satisfied with how you two concluded the story. Clapping very, very hard! And...thank you!

The final chapter 'Home to Roost' is now also on Wetpaint. Those of you who would like to add their comments over there should be able to do so now.

Thank you everyone, for staying loyal and interested over this epic tale and for giving your comments all the way through. Knowing people are reading and enjoying the chapters really helps to keep the creative juices flowing!

Never mind! wetPaint is still not up and running properly. Don't know why it took my chapter if it wasn't ready to but there you have it.

Okay, I mean it this time. Some of you realized it before I did, but for those of you who haven't, Home To Roost is now up on WetPaint. Your final thoughts and comments on this epic over on that site would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

We're up and running with a new story in the Twist Of Fate universe. THE LINEAGE is a combined effort between myself and InsideOutlaw. Apparently WetPaint is still, or again under maintenance so you can find the first chapter, 'Birth of a Princess' at the following link. http://aliassmithandjones.canadian-forum.com/

PostSubject: New story. The Lineage   Thu Sep 26, 2013 10:32 am

Hello everyone. Sorry for the delay but we have finally be able to post the first chapter of 'The Lineage'. This is a co-operative effort between myself and InsideOutlaw. You're not really behind anyone else in reading this, is I have just returned from vacation and didn't get any writing done anyways. So chapter two is still to be written and posted. Everyone is up to date! Enjoy. http://asjbuckshot.forumotion.com/t3-the-lineage-birth-of-a-princess-by-keays-and-insideoutlaw-part-one#6

So are you not going to post at all on Wetpaint/WikiFoundry? That website seems to be up and running again.

Hello everyone. It seems that Buckshot Enterprises is up and running again (I hope) so the first two chapters of The Lineage are now posted over there. The first chapter is 'Birth of a Princess' and the second chapter is 'Encounters'. This story is a joint effort between myself and InsideOutlaw.

Okay, so much for Buckshot. I don't think I'm going believe them from now on when they say they're back up and running.

They haven't managed to get it together. Even when they were running parts of the overall site weren't working.
That's the reason for the move. Yesterday I couldn't even get in to copy VS stories for transfer.

Well, I, for one, am not having a problem with WikiFoundry and just want to let you know, Keays, that I read the first chapter there and posted a comment on that site. Here's hoping we can access the site for future installments of your story!

I read "Encounters" also and posted a comment there. (I am going to be very tired tomorrow morning!) Let me know if you can't access the site and I'll post the comments here for you.

I was actually able to access it this time. Thanks Ghis. I just finished editing Encounters so we are both going to be really tired in the morning! At least it's Sunday.
