I'm just putting the bottom of the thread back to any English gals wanting to be reminiscing about dear old Basil Brush in the mid seventies Beej is quite right:

Gentle smiles in the 'not relevant' section, yeah. Getting het up, nah.

Our dear old Terry Thomas based Be-Brushed Foxy was the second best thing on telly, huh?

I loved Basil Brush and had my own cuddly version of him.
I loved Derek Fowlds as his co-presenter and to this day when someone leaves a story unfinished I cry....."You can't leave it there Mister Derek."
