| I don't know from whom my last review on fanfiction came, but the person made their point eloquently. The story in future will benefit from it and I'm just really sorry to have lost them. So if you were getting discouraged, please come back and give me another chance. HW | |

| I'm sorry you got a review like that, Helen. Don't let it discourage you! Folks have done far worse to the boys because "we always hurt the ones we love".
A negative review like that should have been pm'd to you. _________________ h "Do you ever get the feeling that nothing right is ever going to happen to us again?" - Kid Curry

| I just read that review. Wow! But also: Sheesh! Whoever wrote it should have sent you a private message detailing her (I'm assuming the reader was female) concerns. Clearly, that person has not read much ASJ fanfic because there are lots and lots of stories that do much worse to the boys than what you described in Chapter 56. Also, that person must not be very familiar with what life actually was like in the 19th century, especially in a prison. Please don't feel bad about that review! The writer was way out of line and what (s)he wrote was uncalled for in public. You should absolutely continue to write the story however you see fit! Don't be discouraged and don't let that person dissuade you from continuing the story. | |

| Honestly, GE, and Penski, I think she's (I assume you are right there, but don't know) right. There was no private message - no need for one. I've been getting off base and I can see so much better and more creative possibilities by taking the story by a slightly different route to the same ending I was envisioning all along. I've been pushing it too far for drama and forgetting the wonderful fun of the guys together. I appreciate your support, but really I think everyone will be happier with the changes. I know that I will. There's plenty of tension left, I hope, but less overt violence. That was never what it was supposed to be about. And in case you wonder once I post the next chapter, the opening scene remains almost exactly as I originally envisioned it. HW | |

| Dear Helen, I couldn't keep up with your story at the moment because I'm so very busy, so I've only just seen the comments mentioned earlier. I do promise to get back to it when I have more time. All I can say is that you are the writer and should take the story where you want it to go. If the person who wrote the comments wants a story to go in a certain way - well, they should flaming well write it themselves and risk public opinion! Leaving a comment anonymously is bad form and rest assured that it does not reflect the majority of your readers. I also don't think there's anything wrong with a story going its own way. Keep your chin up and keep writing. If it's any help, I can't wait to have time to see what all the fuss is about. They do say there's no such thing as bad publicity, don't they? |

| Subject: Chapter 39? Sun Jul 07, 2013 2:36 pm | |
| I have a question for you readers and writers. I've noticed that of all of the many chapters in Two Degrees of Separation, one is the hands-down favorite according to the read statistics on the fan fic archives. Since I like to make readers happy, I must ask. What is the deal with Chapter 39? Thanks for any clues! I'm guessing it's Heyes' wicked little trick he plays on a certain author, but maybe I'm wrong. | RL intervenes big time, and largely in good ways, so I beg your patience. While most of my chapters were written a long time ago, some recent ones have required new work and I just don't have much time for that for the next few weeks and months. The next few chapters will go up, but slowly. HW | |

| I just want you to know that I won't give up on the story! RL comes first, but I don't want my fan fic folks to worry about me - or Heyes and the Kid! HW | |

| HelenWest contacted me... Her next chapter to Two Degrees of Separation Part 2 has been postponed.
Besides having to move, her laptop officially died and she has to get a new one, learn the new software, and get back online. She's hoping she didn't lose any of the chapter she was writing. Oh, and she has a trip for work in a week.
She'll post again as soon as possible and thanks us for our patience. _________________ h "Do you ever get the feeling that nothing right is ever going to happen to us again?" - Kid Curry

| Wow! That's a lot to deal with at one time. Let her know I sympathize. Hmm, if she ends up with Windows 8, I really sympathize. It has all sorts of quirks. _________________ I read part of it all the way through. Samuel Goldwyn | |

| Whew,I can post here anyhow. But I somehow messed up my fan fix archives account so I ca't post on it or see messages or reviewed. I hope to solve it after I get my new computer on Wednesday or later. They changed my screen name when I changed my password. Thanks for sympathy! I will dig out eventually and get more chapters up by hook or by crook. HW | |
