PostSubject: Nov 2012 Poll - Democratic Process   Sat Dec 01, 2012 12:08 am

Hey, whaddya know...

We're going to be using our very own Democratic Process - to determine which 'Democratic Process' wins the electoral prize to beat 'em all...

The yellow Bandanny

AND not just a yellow Bandanny - but a yellow bandanny you'll be able to wear while carving that Christmas turkey / Solstice Nut Roast / Festive Fig Roll !!!!!

:foodsleepy: :foodsleepy: :foodsleepy: :foodsleepy:

So, present your voting cards to the nice lady...

Go to the Plywood booth with the strangley stubby black pencil tied with string...

And excercise your Franchise (Ooooh - Missus!)

Yes, yes, I know it's hard when every story is not only so deserving BUT when the ladies once again have given us a smorgasbord of styles to compare and contrast.
You're all winners - lurve you all.

But, force yourself to vote!!

You never know - we may beat the turnout of some England Police Commissionaire poll booths!

[Actually bound to - did you hear about that polling station who had ZERO voters...
And I don't know about you, but I live in a pretty built up area, I wasn't that early - and I was voter number 3.
Still they were delighted to see me!]

Back to the world of dusty hats...

Get choosing!!!

Always love your intro blurbs encouraging us to vote, Calico! But, um, what's all this about:

You never know - we may beat the turnout of some England Police Commissionaire poll booths!

[Actually bound to - did you hear about that polling station who had ZERO voters...
And I don't know about you, but I live in a pretty built up area, I wasn't that early - and I was voter number 3.
Still they were delighted to see me!]

Please elucidate for those of us who have no idea what you're talking about! thankyou

Hi Ghis - In England and Wales we recently had a new post of Police Commissioner created, an elected post. The public were completely underwhelmed and stayed away in droves. One polling station had nobody turn up at all and only a tiny percentage of people voted at all. Apparently only 2 out of every ten people voted, and the whole thing became a bit of a joke.

Slogan: If I'm elected, I'll only hack phones legally
Song: I Shot the Law and the Law Won
Song: The Guns of Brixton

Hello, hello, hello!!!

Starting to feel a little Christmassy yet???

Well, one lucky gal is about to get an early present - delivered by an ex-outlaw in an outfit of her choosing (Elf? Bauble? Cracker? Chipolata??)

Because - the polling is over and we have a worthy winner of the much coveted Yellow Bandanny!!!

And that winner is...

Is...

Hunkey Dorey !!!

For a most touching - and surprising - tale of the boys visiting an old, old acquaintance with more than one secret.

Congratulations HunkeyD. Great story. congrats congrats congrats

Huge thank yous to ALL the writers who played.
The boy have laid in extra supply of cinnamon flavoured lip salve, two sprigs of mistletoe and will be round to thank you all personnally before the New Year!! :reindeer2: :reindeer2: :reindeer2:

bal Hunkeydorey bal

Congratulations on a touching and cleverly constructed story. A well deserved winner. Your bandana is in one of these boxes. Good luck finding it! :elf:

P.S. I know you have a fondness for that 'other fella,' so if you want me to keep Mr. Heyes amused, I'll be happy to help.

Hi Folks, I really can't believe that I got votes, let alone won. I almost gave up writing after the response to my first efforts, and would have done so if Silverkelpie hadn't encouraged me to keep going.

Thanks so much. This really does encourage me to keep trying.

I wish you everything for the holiday season you'd wish yourselves, no matter what holiday you follow. :santasleigh:
